The University of Houston Digifest is a career event that helps display senior Digital Media students’ work produced throughout their time at this university. It’s an event that helps give them job opportunities and encourages them to start a career path after graduation and move into their career. We had to group up in pairs with the initial goal to help create a postcard for potential local businesses interested in our event and personalize it for each company.
The concept we strived to push was the metaphorical meaning of an axe which means power and determination. That is the representation of UH, and the welder is the student who tries to break through any obstacles. The metaphorical way to show something was to break through with the full intention of chaos. The color scheme was to use a dark color palate and only one different color to help pop out to the viewers and show the importance of that willpower.
Variable Data we used to help customize the said data into specific businesses we can target and allowed us to separate based on industry, location, and gender. We use the XMPIE system to help change the address, names, messages, taglines, and image of the postcard. Each specialized towards that individual and created a relatable reason for their interest in Digifest.
