The story begins with a mirror given to a girl. Late at night, she is sleeping on her bed when a shadowy hand extends out of the mirror and hovers over her figure. She receives nightmares and wakes up in fright. She runs out the room and receives comfort from her mom. They return to her bedroom in which the mom volunteers to sleep next to her daughter to ease her mind. Few hours later, the hand reappears and hovers above the mother’s and daughter’s figures. Sensing an ominous presence, the mother wakes up and is shocked to see a shadowy hand of the mirror.
This was a final project to showcase the knowledge we learned in 2D animation with the instructions of a format of either frame by frame or motion tween, a character and background needed, and sound effects and music.
This project was fascinating. I had fun creating the character yet struggled in the walk scene of the two characters, the hand movement, and the last scene of the two ghost characters in the previous scene due to no time. I was happy with creating the reaction face of one of the characters and the frightened expression they created while also making the background lighting effects. Redownloading and editing through both tablet and PC was a hassle, but I developed an excellent glowing light effect. In my eyes, the whole video is a lovely work for me in my attempt to create something scary.
